202 "Corsa"

Three special 202 coupes were prepared for racing, and are often referred to as "Corsas". They had great success in the 1948 Targa Florio, with Piero Taruffi finshing second in car #7 in 12h 12' 14", only 16 minutes behind Biondetti's 166 Ferrari. This was a remarkable achievement since according to Count Lurani the 1088 km (675 mile) course had something like 12,000 corners. At his average speed of 87.5 khp (54 mph) Taruffi was taking a corner on average every four seconds! Cisitalias took five of the top ten places in this race, against competition from Maserati, Alfa and multiple 166 Ferraris.

In the 1948 Mille Miglia Scagliarni took 5th place overall with a 202 Corsa.
